Hometown Bobcats

Hometown Bobcats Leadership Dinner

Welcome Hometown Bobcats and Friends!

What is Hometown Bobcats?

Hometown Bobcats is a retention program that
started in spring 2007 to support students from
the lower retention areas in Texas.

The mission of Hometown Bobcats is to support our Hispanic students from El Paso, the Dallas/Ft. Worth Metroplex, Laredo, and the Valley Area by connecting them to the Texas State campus and assisting them in creating and strengthening friendships while working their way to graduation.
During Hometown Bobcat meetings, we discuss university resources and more importantly, what needs our students have. Students also meet as a group to attend university sponsored events such as football games, lectures, and fine arts productions.

In spring 2008, we will meet four Mondays: February 4, 11, 18, and 25. Please click on your hometown for times and locations. Missed a meeting? Click here to view the information discussed!

If you have any questions, comments, or concerns please e-mail Cerise Edmonds, Haley Dorris, or Sheila Bustillos, Graduate Research Assistants for Retention.
