Parking Permits for New Employees

Parking Permits for New Employees

It takes several days to get hiring paperwork signed by everyone and for Human Resources to input the information.  To assist Parking Services with a prompt and "hassle-free" delivery of a permit, please note the following:

  1. For regular faculty and staff, please make a copy of the RBC before forwarding it on for signatures.  Give the copy to the new employee to bring to Parking Services, where staff can use the RBC information to determine what permit the employee is eligible to receive.

  2. For non-student non-regular employees, make a copy of the Appointment Form before forwarding it on for signatures.  Give the copy to the new employee to bring to Parking Services to obtain a permit.

  3. Adjunct faculty and staff paid in any other fashion (grants, contract, other outside sources) MAY be approved to purchase a restricted permit.  The individual department should submit a memo to Parking Services explaining:

    * the nature of employment
    * the office and supervisor (director, dean, chair) of that office
    * the source of funding, and
    * the amount of time (days per week, hours, etc.) expected on campus

    The memo must originate from the department chair, dean, director, or manager.

FYI:  Staff persons employed 50% or more on an RBC (or for Non-Student Non-Regular appointments, 20 hours per week) are eligible for restricted parking permits.  All faculty are eligible regardless of % time (excluding TAs and GRAs).
